Okay, you've been a new affiliate signup, you've been the owner, now it's time to put on the "customer" hat!
Remember that URL I had you write down when you signed up to be an affiliate? Well, you're going to place a "simulated order" there.
You can use a "test" customer name and the "test" credit card number which is already on the order form for this demo. You can also try a bogus credit card number, just to see if the script will catch/reject it. (It will.)
Okay, here we go!
In a second browser window (either the one that was opened earlier, or a
new one), go to the URL you wrote down when you signed up as a new affiliate. If you
don't remember the URL, you can go to the default affiliate page here.
The page that appears is the homepage for that affiliate.
Depending on the type of store you decide to have, all the items for sale could be listed
on that page, or links to other product pages could be present on that page. For
this example, click on the link to our product pages.
Feel free to browse through the store. Remember this is just a
demonstration store so nothing will be billed and you won't receive any of the items you
buy. (Too bad because we put in some great deals.) When you have finished
shopping, click on the "Goto Checkout" button to go to the order form.
Now fill out the order form.
A valid email address is required -- just
use "demo@synergyx.com" if you don't feel comfortable using your own.
For credit card information, click on "Visa" and enter the number 4111111111111111(as shown on the order form already).
Use any expiration date that is valid (the current month/year or later)
Submit the order by clicking on the button at the bottom of the order form
Now, if you put your email address in as the customer email address, you should receive three emails:
The one that is normally sent to the customer
The one that is normally sent to the affiliate
The one that is normally sent to the Synergyx administrator/owner
If your order included a "downloadable" product, your customer notification email should include a download location and download code -- go ahead and try it out -- this is one of the most powerful aspects of this software!
